One of Midlothian‘s most established neighborhoods is situated within the heart of the community not far from major roadways, shopping, and a wealth of outdoor activities. Within the community itself, homeowners enjoy immediate access to neighborhood amenities such as a clubhouse, pool, and sidewalks for members who join the WPCA. Walton Park has made a name for itself as a fun and affordable neighborhood of over 900 homes since its establishment in the 1970s. Today, Walton Park residents enjoy a plethora of community events, Walton Park Waves Swim Team, a Women’s Club, and many other amenities.

Local Lifestyle

Walton Park is one of Chesterfield County’s more popular neighborhoods, and for good reason. Its housing affordability, close-knit web of highly involved neighbors, and the pride these locals have for the place they call home. Walton Park hosts well-known events throughout the year such as the Tacky Lights Tour and Run. This community is also home to the Walton Park Waves, a swim team for kids that is well-known in the Richmond area.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

One of Walton Park’s most attractive aspects is its central Midlothian location. Being so close to the center of Midlothian, it is a stone’s throw from anything one could ever want or need. Movie theaters, local coffee shops, large name-brand shops, locally owned eateries, salons, spas, fitness studios, other businesses, and more can all be found along the Midlothian Turnpike.

Walton Park residents are also just down the road from the largest enclosed shopping mall in the Richmond area, Chesterfield Towne Center. Consisting of over 100 shops and eateries, some of the larger brand names found here Consist of Macy’s, Ulta Beauty, H&M, and several others.

Things To Do

Residents of Walton Park are within walking distance to Midlothian Mines Park, the first documented commercially-mined coal site for the Virginia Colony. Today, this 44-acre preserve is home to a pond, bike trails, and walking path. Locals love to spend time here as there is much to explore.

Schools

This well-established community is part of the Chesterfield County School System but is also in close proximity to many private schools. JB Watkins Elementary (Coalminers), Midlothian Middle School (Mustangs) and Midlothian High School (Trojans). MHS, grades 9-12; MHS was scored a 93/100 by U.S. News & World Report for their high advanced placement participation rate, scores on state standardized exams, and practically perfect graduation rate
